Thankfully most of the newer features aren't targeting anything that would limit Logic's GUI performance, so that's a bit of a tangent which I'll let sit, but it has affected my workflow in the past.ītw I actually *use* graphical applications like Maya, Combustion/Flame, Nuke & so on as frequently as my audio applications. It's easy to compare specific shader extensions & opengl extensions across all 3 OSes and OSX doesn't even have current support for OpenGL 4. GFXCARDSTATUS FOR MAC 10.6 UPDATEAnything older than that won't actually launch Final Cut Pro X and Logic's system requirements used to specifically say no Intel IGP's until the HD3000/4000 based graphics i5/i7 laptops came along.Īlso Apple's update of vendor supplied changes isn't even in step with the same driver versions on the 'windows' and now linux side of the world. This is especially the case for pre-2009/8 era machines, which your g92 based 8800GT is just on the edge of. It might seem surprising I guess, but Apple's support for their latest API changes can be very spotty when it comes to GPU driver support across their product lines. GFXCARDSTATUS FOR MAC 10.6 CODEThe nvidia & amd/ati driver support comes via Apple taking code supplied to them and 'rolling it in' to OS updates which now also carry framework updates and other components that were formerly separate installs (so you could track what was being deployed manually if it conflicted with Applications you use or etc). But that isn't really my point.you can get indignant all you want and it doesn't change this: My system can play 3D games and animate complex Maya crap if i need it to.Sounds like you're in a huff over a G92 card that's not really as powerful as you're making out anyway.
